1. Palatine Gallery 

Palatine Gallery is the most famous part of Pitti Palace which consists of 28 rooms. It has a wide collection of more than 500 Renaissance painting by Europe’s famous painters like Raphael. Being a famous tourist attraction of Palazzo Pitti, it has a wide range of various art galleries like –

  • Room of Apollo:

2. The Royal Apartments

Royal Apartments were once the residence of the Medici and Lorraine grand ducal families. Consisting of 14 magnificent rooms, it was used by the King of Italy until 1920. These rooms have been altered many times and the last alteration has been made in the 19th century.

Apart from that, the Royal Apartments contain a collection of Medici family portraits whereas most of the portraits are designed by Justus Sustermans (1597-1681). Sustermans was known as the official Medici court painter.

Green Room is frescoed by Giuseppe Castagnoli in the early 19th century and also has an intarsia cabinet from the 17th century. The Throne Room was highly decorated for King of Savoy, Vittorio Emanuele II.

Blue Room had furniture from the 17th and 18th centuries. It also has the exceptional portraits of Medici Family painted by Justus Sustermans Costume Gallery. Further, it is also considered as the first Fashion Museum in Italy. It occupies the Palazzina della Meridiana of the 18th century.
