1. Diskit Monastery –
Diskit Monastery is one of the oldest and second largest monasteries in Nubra Valley. Founded around the 14th century by the Changzem Tserab Zangpo, the disciple of Tsong Khapa. The inner prayer hall adorned with a beautiful statue of Maitreya Buddha, huge drums and paintings of fierce guardian deities. Further, it displays a perfect blend of Tibetan style of architecture and culture thus the entire monastery looks beautiful from inside to outside.
Besides that, the monastery also runs a school with the collaboration of an NGO named ‘Tibet Support Group’. An annual Dosmoche festival also organised here in the month of February every year. 2. Panamik Village –
Panamik Village is an uninterrupted tourist destination in Nubra Valley which is located at a distance of 145 km from Leh. The beautiful village set an altitude of 3183 m above sea level and known for its hot water springs and silk routes. Lies on the bank of Nubra River, it is surrounded by snow-capped mountain peaks and lush green valleys that make it one of the worth visiting tourist attractions in Nubra Valley.
